Broken Arrow Police arrested a Tulsa man after he told Walmart employees at the South Elm Place store there was a bomb inside the store Thursday night.

Officers said employees told police Timothy Lair, 41, who was wearing a tuxedo, went the store's service counter and yelled  "We need to get everyone out of the building now" because there is a bomb in the meat section of the store.

They said Lair then left the store, telling employees he was going to watch the new Star Wars move at a Broken Arrow movie theater and said there was a bomb there too.

Police located Lair at the Warren Theater at 1700 Aspen Creek Drive and when questioned admitted to making the threats.

Warren Theatre Vice President Dan Gray released the following statement:

"At Warren Theatre we take the safety of our customers very seriously. As soon as we were made aware of the situation last night we did a precautionary & thorough search of the theatre and nothing was found. We thank the off-duty BAPD officers who were working security last night and the BAPD Chief of Police for doing a wonderful job handling this event."

Officers arrested Timothy Lair and booked him into the Tulsa County jail on a bomb threat complaint.  Jail records show he is being held on a $50,000 bond with a court appearance set for December 28.

“While notable events around the nation always tend to give us pause when questionable things happen locally, every situation must be evaluated on its own merits," Broken Arrow Chief of Police David Boggs said in a news release.

"It was the assessment of the officers on the scene that while Mr. Lair’s statements were illegal and inflammatory, no members of the public were ever in any danger.  Now we must allow the adjudication through the justice system to provide the appropriate closure and correct remedy on this matter."
