OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City boy with special needs got a surprise trip to the North Pole to see Santa Claus.

Peter Murry goes to school at Special Care and the staff nominated him for the one-on-one experience.

Peter's day started with a special pick-up from EMSA paramedics who transported him all the way to the North Pole at Crossroads Mall.

The North Pole Adventure is an interactive Christmas attraction.

3-year-old Peter has cerebral palsy and got to explore the North Pole all by himself with Santa’s elves.

“When we pick up kids usually in our line of work, it's because they are having a bad day,” EMSA paramedic Nick Thayer.  “Peter is having a great day today and it's a real blessing for us to be able to contribute to that,” he added.

His favorite part was driving a toy police car in the toy workshop.

“For him to just feel like he can be independent even with his condition and for everyone to just really treat him that way as if he's just another child like everyone else,” said Peter’s mother, Sherri Murry.

Peter fed Comet in the reindeer barn and sang carols along the way.

He even got to sit on Santa’s lap to discuss his wish list.

Murry said she cannot thank everyone enough for dedicating their time to make Peter's day.

“I don't think people understand how much it means to me as a mother with a child who may seem like he has a lot of limitations, but his heart is so big and he wants to try so much and they just let him,” she told News 9.

EMSA has done this special adventure for 16 years now three times a year including Easter egg hunts, trick or treating at Halloween and visiting Santa at Christmas.
