A chilly night is ahead under mainly clear skies and light winds.
Here, Wednesday evening, temperatures will fall quickly after sunset into the 30s as winds remain light. Overnight, a few high clouds will start to filter in from the west as temperatures bottom out in the upper-20s.
On Thursday, our next weather system quickly moves in from the northwest. This will be a weakening weather system with limited moisture to work with.
However, we do expect some light rain mix with snow to move out of the panhandles into central Oklahoma by Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures will be chilly in the mid- to upper-40s, north winds under cloudy skies.
Temperatures aloft are much colder so we couldn’t rule out some snowflakes mixed in even here across Oklahoma City with the light rain. Anything that does fall will be light as this system is in and out very quickly and over by Thursday evening.
Beyond Thursday, the sunshine returns and so do the above average temperatures back into the 50s for Friday and Saturday.
On Sunday, clouds increase but so do the south winds to help boost our highs in the lower-60s. This warm weather continues into Christmas week with sunshine and highs in the 50s and 60s. So, sorry kids, the chances of a white Christmas are not looking that great right now.
