LAS VEGAS, Nevada -

It's going to be a big night for Campaign 2016. Nine Republican Presidential contenders will face off Tuesday night in the last debate of the year in Las Vegas.

Terrorism and national security will likely dominate the discussion. While Donald Trump will once again take center stage all eyes will be on his biggest rival right now Senator Ted Cruz.

The latest Monmouth University Poll shows Trump still has a commanding lead in the national race for the Republican nomination. But it's a different story in Iowa. Seven weeks from the caucuses, Cruz is gaining ground against the billionaire businessman.

On the Campaign Trail, Cruz has been focused on national security, while Trump is focused on his rivals.

“The enemy is radical Islamic terrorism, and it's trying to destroy our country and our way of life,” said Cruz.

“The other candidates should be thankful because I’m giving them a chance to make total fools of themselves in front of millions of people,” said Trump.

At the debate Tuesday night, Dr. Ben Carson will be opposite of Cruz, next to Trump. And New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will return to the main stage.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has a nine-point lead over Bernie Sanders in Iowa. The next Democratic debate will be on December 19 in New Hampshire.
