The City of Edmond said it’ll be recovering from the Thanksgiving ice storm for another two months.

City Spokesman Casey Moore said the city has hired contractors to pick up the debris. He said crews started the pick up this past Monday, and the process will take several weeks.

“The main thing we ask is everything is cut to six feet or less and is placed within two feet from the curb, and we are asking people to avoid stacking around water meters, gas meters, mail boxes, fire hydrants, those types of things,” said Moore.

Friday, Perry Sneed was using his chainsaw to cut up limbs on one of his rental properties at Broadway and Shirley Lane. “I appreciate Mary Fallin fighting for us, so that our towns can afford to do this, otherwise Edmond couldn’t afford to pick up all of this.”
