Norman police are looking for a woman and her 8-year-old son who have been missing since November 19, 2015.

According to police, officers are looking for 42-year-old Shannon Gail Rowell and her son, Douglas Jayden Jarrel.

Rowell is described as a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 135 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Jarrel is described as a white male, 4 feet tall, 55 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

The two were last seen at an apartment complex in Norman on November 19, 2015. No one has seen or heard from either Rowell or Jarrel since that time, and detectives would like to verify their safety and well-being.

Police say the rest of Rowell's family lives in Colorado, and just notified Norman Police she is missing.

Police Spokesperson Sarah Jensen said the boy's father lives in the Norman area, and is not considered a suspect at this time.

Norman police ask that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rowell and Jarrel immediately contact Detective Derrick Hopkins at (405)-366-5232.

"Even if it seems like a small tip, that's going to be more than what we have in this case. And we really just want to confirm this woman and her child's well-being, and their safety," said Jensen.
