Three people earned a fresh start in life Tuesday when they graduated with culinary certificates from the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation's Culinary program. The 16-week program is offered to low-income individuals, and sponsored by the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

After graduation, the food bank uses its connections to help students get jobs in the food service industry. Executive Chef Jeff Marlow says the program is about much more than just cooking.

"Just teaching them life skills that you have to have to go out and work. And get them just in that routine, that daily routine of being responsible and showing up for work everyday," said Jeff Marlow, executive chef at the Food Bank.

The Food Bank hosts up to four classes a year.
