The jury has not reached a verdict in the case against a former Oklahoma City police officer early Tuesday.

Jurors will stay in a hotel overnight and will continue deliberations at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Daniel Holtzclaw was charged with 36 felony counts. He was a police officer in the Springlake division and is accused of sexually assaulting 13 women in his patrol area.

The jury deliberated shortly after 5 p.m. Monday to about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday without reaching a verdict.

The prosecution said Holtzclaw used his power as an officer to prey on women he could intimidate and bully into silence.

Holtzclaw's attorney Scott Adams claimed Holtzclaw acted honorably and ethically and the neighborhood Holtzclaw patrolled is known for not liking police officers.
