Suspect Surrenders Following Standoff With Police In SE OKC

A suspect surrendered to police following a 4-hour standoff Thursday night.

According to police, around 7:00 p.m. Thursday, officers attempted to arrest 25-year-old Enrique De La Cruz Jr. at a home in the 18000 block of S.E. 89th. He was wanted for on multiple felony warrants, including robbery and assault and battery.

Officers said De La Cruz then barricaded himself inside the home.

A tact team along with the bomb squad was called to assist with the situation. The suspect was taken into custody after a 4-hour standoff. 

De La Cruz is now in the Oklahoma County jail and faces charges of robbery in the first degree, aggravated assault and battery, and burglary in the first degree.
