Thunder Can't Handle The Heat, Lose Second Straight

In a game that featured a whopping 38 lead changes, the Heat were able to prevail over the Thunder and snuck away with a 97-95 win inside of the American Airlines Arena.

Miami’s Dwayne Wade drained two free throws with 1.5 seconds left on the clock to take the lead, and Russell Westbrook’s game tying three-point attempt at the buzzer thudded off the backboard to seal the Heat win.

Oklahoma City held a lead at the end of all three quarters, but the Heat were able to outscore the Thunder 23-to-19 in the final frame as Wade led the way by scoring the Heat’s final eight points and totaled 28 in the game.

Westbrook led the way for OKC with 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists, while Kevin Durant finished with 25 points and nine rebounds.

Durant really got it going in the second half, and it appeared the Thunder would be able to pull away if they followed his lead. But unfortunately for OKC, the Heat showed why they’re the best defensive team in the league and was able to wear down the Thunder offense and force them into running multiple isolation plays.

Dion Waiters added 13 points off the bench in a losing effort while Kanter added ten points but only grabbed three rebounds. Chris Bosh scored 16 points for the Heat while Goran Dragic added 14 of his own.

Oklahoma City will be back in action on Sunday when it hosts the Kings at home inside of Chesapeake Energy Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
