Thousands of people in our state are still without power after the Thanksgiving ice storm. And one local electric company said it could still be next week before the lights and heat come back on.

People in El Reno, Mustang, Union City and the surrounding area have been without power for nearly a week. Caddo Electric Cooperative said it could be another week before power is restored.

The company said it's had more than 40 crews out working since Monday. They said it's a work in progress, but they are making head way.

On their Facebook page, the company told its customers to be prepared to wait it out or make other plans.

Right now, OG&E is reporting more than 13,000 customers are still without electricity. More than half of those are in the metro.

At the peak of the Thanksgiving ice storm, more than 150,000 were without power across the state.
