Crews Battle Overnight Fires In NW OKC

Oklahoma City fire crews worked through cold rain and ice to extinguish fires on the northwest side overnight.

Around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, a home caught fire near NW 2nd and Douglas, forcing crews to work fast to save nearby buildings. Crews arrived on the scene and found the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Also, Saturday night, a generator caused a home near NW 28th and Macarthur firefighters told News 9 the fire started in the garage then spread. The fire caused an estimated $20,000 worth of damage. No one was hurt.

Authorities at the OKCFD say since Saturday they responded to at 112 calls related to power lines and 14 house fires.
