This was a horribly hard Thanksgiving for Christopher Curry's mother and his entire family.

It was the night of Oct. 19 in the 1600 block of Meyers Place that Christopher Curry, 31, was shot and killed right outside his grandmother’s home. Now, all his family wants is for an arrest to be made and for justice to be served.

“I never imagined having to bury one of my own children,” Chantal Curry said.

She said Christopher was a wonderful son with a big laugh and an even bigger heart.

“He always kept people smiling, he loved his children,” Curry said. “He has five kids, and they loved him so much. And they miss him so much. I can't even imagine how hard it is for them.”

Curry said her faith in God is what helps her cope with her son’s death, but she said there is no peace with her son's killer still on the loose.

“We're not able to rest well, we're not able to be at peace, there's no closure," she said.

Police have identified Marquis Dwon Major, 28, as a suspect in the fatal shooting of Christopher Curry. Someone his family knows all too well.

“Him and Chris were friends,” Curry said. “He was around my grandkids, he was around our family, and for something this devastating to happen.”

Curry said her son was shot a total of nine times outside the family's home, and she believes more people than just Major may be involved. Christopher's father also wants justice.

And while he can't forgive what happened, Christopher's mother can.

“We all make mistakes in life,” Curry said. “But we serve a forgiving God, and I believe that Dwon can be forgiven. I've already forgiven him -  and I want him to be able to live with himself.”

An arrest warrant has been issued for Major. If you know where police can find him, call the Oklahoma City homicide tip line at (405) 297-1200.
