Red Dirt Diaries: 'Mustache Across America'
OKLAHOMA CITY - The month of November motivates many to grow a mustache. For one man, it's inspired a very long bike ride, which just brought him through the Sooner State.
You may have spotted the spots this past week. One man, moving down the streets of OKC dressed like a cow.
It’s not ideal, just another way Kevin Lamb is turning heads. On his seat, he'll travel from coast to coast.
“I was doing a 14-day meditation retreat and during the 7th day the phrase came into my mind, “Mustache across America,” said Lamb.
The route for the month long ride is also inspired by facial hair.
This is not some fundraising event close to the cyclist’s heart; it’s more of a personal challenge. Lamb has gone coast to coast on a bike before, but never in a 30-day time frame.
“I'll sleep on the roof of a McDonalds probably more than anywhere else,” said Lamb.
That sounded made up until he specially told News 9 about the ladders at each restaurant.
“I can climb up I can access the Wi-Fi. I've done this maybe 40 times,” said Lamb.
He is originally from St Louis and has taken some strange jobs to make ends meet.
“People have been good to me,” he said.
So much that Kevin Lamb feels so comfortable on the road, trusting in the country's generosity.
