OKC Officer Escapes Serious Injury Following Crash

OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City police officer escaped serious injuries after a car accident on the southwest side.

It happened at S.W. 29th and Western around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The Oklahoma City police officer involved is in the hospital, but only for precaution.

The driver's side door of the police car is smashed in while the Toyota Corolla had significant damage to the front end. Police said both cars were moving when they crashed into each other.

The driver of Toyota Corolla wasn't taken into custody. The department said more details will be released when the investigation  is complete.
