Crews Battle Grass Fire Near Tinker AFB

Crews have extinguished a grass fire that flared up along Interstate 40, just to the east of the metro, Thursday evening.

Firefighters were called out to the scene on the south side of I-40, east of S. Post Rd., right near Tinker Air Force Base. Authorities say the fire burned about two and a half acres.

The fire was under control around 5:30 and completely out shortly thereafter. The cause has not yet been determined.
