Thanksgiving is more than a week away, but the annual Jesus House food basket drive may be in need of a little “divine intervention.”
The Thanksgiving food basket giveaway has been a 40-year tradition at Jesus House. Executive Director Michael Bateman says they normally have the resources to fill 1,500 baskets with turkey and ham and all of the fixings. However, he says right now they only have 52 turkeys to work with.
“God’s going to provide,” he said Monday afternoon. “We were sitting at 75 last year and uh we seen an outpouring of Oklahomans and an outpouring of businesses.”
Jesus House is a Faith-based recovery center for drug addicts, homeless people, and folks who need mental support.
