Police confirm one person is dead after a triple shooting in SW OKC Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m., near Southwest 15th and Grand at the Oak Grove Apartments.

Upon arrival, police say they found the victims shot inside a vehicle. One man was dead, and there’s no word yet on the conditions of the other two victims.

Bobby Dean Whorton was arrested in connection with the shooting at the Oak Grove Apartments on Sunday morning.

An Oklahoma City police spokesman said about two hours after the shooting, police received a report of an assault on a cab driver by a woman and man in his vehicle.

They both had gotten out of the cab before officers could arrive but the woman was located and detained as a witness in the shooting shortly afterward. Whorton was found about 9:45 a.m. and police took him into custody.

The taxi driver told police both people talked about their involvement in the Oak Grove Apartments shooting.

The assault on the taxi driver happened near Interstate 40 and Portland Avenue.
