TUTTLE, Oklahoma -

A Tuttle family wins a national celebrity makeover contest for their mother who is a breast cancer survivor.

Nancy Huffine had no idea her son entered her into a special makeover contest for breast cancer awareness month.

“I can’t show my fears, because then it affects everybody,” she said. “So you try to keep it in and just live for the moment and go one day at a time.”

On this day, Nancy couldn't hide her emotions. She was the center of attention. Nancy was selected out of more than 100 nationwide entries after her son, Seth Huffine, came across a Facebook post by former NFL and Sooners football player Roy Williams.

“It was a makeover of a lifetime for any breast cancer survivor or anybody who’s battling this,” Seth Huffine said.

It was a battle his mother was fighting.

“We were actually out of power that night whenever I was submitting the story,” he said.

Out of power, but not out of hope, Seth walked outside and used his phone to send it.

“I sat there for a couple of hours just going over the story, submitted it and didn’t think anything of it,” he said.

A few weeks later he got phone call, and his mother got a makeover from celebrity stylist Shereese Slate, who teamed up with Roy Williams. Slate is a cancer survivor, and Williams has a family member who fought the same battle as Nancy.

"It hit home for me to want to give back especially for a breast cancer survivor,” Williams said.

Nancy became a human canvas.

“We just want to give you some sugar,” Slate said.

“I don’t know what to say,” Nancy said. “I’ve got a really special family.”

Now she has memories that go far beyond any palette as Slate helped paint special moments in life this family will always remember.

“That’s more important than letting some little cancer get in the way,” Nancy said. “I can beat that.”

Nancy suggests everyone get a mammogram. She said after years she finally decided to get one last year, and that is how her cancer was discovered.
