OSU Football: Bean In Doubt For TCU Game

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma State could be without one of its top pass rushers this Saturday. There is concern within the program that defensive end Jimmy Bean’s left knee injury is serious.

You might remember the play. Bean batted a Mahomes’ pass in the air but left tackle Le’Raven Clark caught the ball and rumbled down the sideline. Bean helped tackle the big guy but injured his knee in the process.

If Bean can’t suit up against TCU this weekend, it will be the first time since 2012 that the Cowboys will be without the defensive stalwart. Bean has a career-best 5.5 sacks thus far.

The timing isn’t great with season-defining opponents TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma all on tap this month. Oklahoma State has already lost two defensive starters in defensive lineman Vili Leveni and middle linebacker Ryan Simmons.

The good news, the Cowboys are loaded at Bean’s position. The trio of Jordan Brailford, Jarell Owens and Trey Carter, all redshirt freshmen, has been a huge factor this season. Brailford, a Booker T. Washington standout, has shined lately and will be the likely starter against TCU.
