No One's Perfect: Thunder Suffers First Loss Of Season

Posted: Updated:

The Thunder has stormed out of the gates this season playing with a chip on their shoulders. Oklahoma City has clicked on all cylinders during their 3-0 start, which is a total 180 from what the Houston Rockets have done so far.

Houston entered Monday’s tilt at 0-3, having lost all three games by exactly 20 points. It’s even worse when you consider that two of those losses came at home.

So you knew that the Thunder would look to kick their old buddies James Harden and Pat Beverley while they were down.

Not so fast.

Despite falling behind big, the Rockets weren’t about to let their rival walk in and blow ‘em out. After trailing by 11 at halftime, Houston stormed back to beat the Thunder 110-105.

James Harden got the best of his old team with 37 points on 12 of 26 shooting. New acquisition Ty Lawson added 14 points, 11 assists and four steals.

Russell Westbrook led OKC with 25 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. Kevin Durant poured in 29 points while Serge Ibaka and D.J. Augustin each added 12. The Thunder's 24 turnovers helped to negate their hot shooting. The loss comes despite shooting 43.5 percent from 3-point range. Enes Kanter, fresh off the big contract, scored six points and grabbed 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes.

The Thunder is back in action on Wednesday against Toronto. Tip from Chesapeake Arena is set for 7 p.m.
