A Bethany woman is desperately searching for her pet bunny taken from her home.

Denise Parr said about two weeks ago, she was inside her home and left her Netherland Dwarf rabbit in its outdoor pen for a little while.

When she came back outside, she said Sunny the bunny was gone.

“I’m just devastated,” said Parr, who thinks of her more than dozen pets as her children.

Surveillance video from a neighbor across the street may provide answers.

Two children are seen on camera in front of the home and one, according to Parr, is seen running from the house with the bunny.

Parr said a silver minivan is seen near the home as well.

She has filed a report with the Bethany police.

Parr told News 9 she’s been driving all night around Bethany looking for the vehicle.

The pet owner is worried that Sunny isn’t getting the medication she needs.

“She needs me. I need her,” said an emotional Parr about her bunny.

She hopes whoever took the bunny can return the animal to its pen.
