4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded Near Langston

LANGSTON, Oklahoma -

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Langston, Oklahoma, Monday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 10:57 a.m. Its epicenter was located four miles west of Langston, five miles northeast of Guthrie, 19 miles southwest of Stillwater, and 20 miles north, northeast of Edmond.

It was about three miles deep.

Many News 9 viewers reported feeling this earthquake.  

Jamie Ashpaugh: Felt way bigger than 4.4.. Knocked our big screen off our dresser and everything out of our cabinets..that's not happened with any previous quakes..eek! We are on west side of Guthrie

Another 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 11:35 a.m., five miles northeast of Guthrie and 19 miles southwest of Stillwater. It was also about three miles deep.
