Oklahomans Gather To Honor Fallen Law Enforcement Officers

People from across the state honored law enforcement members who have made the ultimate sacrifice and their families.

The annual Blue Light ceremony took place Sunday night at the Department of Public Safety building.

News 9 spoke with one woman who says the ceremony is a way for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty to come together.

"To kind of comfort each other and just to be there for one another, especially when we are unfortunately welcoming new families into our OK Cops organization," widow Karen Woodrell-Gardner said. "It helps us to just let the new families know we are there to support each other."
