The high profile trial of a former Oklahoma City police officer is set to begin on Monday.

Daniel Holtzclaw is accused of sexually assaulting women while on-duty in the metro. It was more than a year ago that Oklahoma City police started investigating the claims against Holtzclaw.

Since then, police have identified and interviewed 13 women. But both Holtzclaw and his attorneys maintain he's innocent.

Daniel Holtzclaw refused to look at the cameras as he made his walk to the courtroom for his pretrial hearing, but one thing everyone noticed is how thin he'd become during his time in the county jail.

Holtzclaw had been under house arrest until August of this year. That's when his bond company revoked his bond after his second violation.

Inside the courtroom, his defense team consulted with him about his pretrial motions, and asked the judge to limit some of the evidence the state plans to present. Most notably, his defense teamed asked to limit the violations of police policy and how it relates to his criminal case.

The judge denied the motion and said the trial is set to begin on Monday as scheduled.

Prosecutors say a total of 175 people have been interviewed as part of this investigation, but the state only plans to call between 60 and 80 witnesses.

According to the witness list, it includes the 13 women who have been located and identified as victims.

The defense team plans to call several Oklahoma City police officers who have worked directly with Holtzclaw during his time as a patrol officer. Also expected to testify are Holtzclaw's ex-girlfriend and Holtzclaw's father, who is also a police officer.

One crucial piece of evidence that will be discussed at length at the trial is the DNA of one of the alleged victims, and how it found its way inside Holtzclaw's uniform pants.

And prosecutors say this trial is expected to last at least a month.
