Police are on the lookout for a suspect caught on camera burglarizing a fast food restaurant on the south side of the metro in early October.

The crook made off with a laptop and a 42-inch television at the Golden Chick in the 5800 block of S. Penn. Ave. and the business owner believes the perpetrator is a former employee of his.

The crime occurred overnight on Oct. 4. The owner called police just after the store opened that day when he discovered the laptop and TV missing. The owner told officers that the alarm was set, but had not been tripped by the burglar.

He also said the burglar entered through an exterior maintenance closet that only store employees know has a malfunctioning lock.

The owner believes the suspect to be a 19-year-old man he fired a few months prior to the crime. The owner also claimed that the suspect, who police have not identified, bragged to another employee that he was planning on robbing the place.

According to the report, the thief also tried prying open a cash register but was unsuccessful.

If you recognize the man you are asked to call crime stoppers at (405) 235-7300 or Text-A-Tip line at (405) 415-5666. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
