A man was arrested Monday after a Canadian County drug dog sniffed out 100 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle, the sheriff's office reported.

Rafael Galvan, 43, of Waterford, California, was arrested on a complaint of trafficking in marijuana.

A deputy pulled over a rented vehicle driving eastbound on Interstate 40 after the deputy saw the vehicle violate multiple traffic laws. The deputy became suspicious of the driver and called out for a drug dog, Canadian County Undersheriff Chris West said.

Pickles, a Canadian County drug detector dog, alerted deputies to the rear of the vehicle. Deputies found 100 pounds of marijuana in the trunk inside two black duffel bags, West said.

The estimated street value for the marijuana is thought to be around half a million dollars, West said.

Galvan was taken to the Canadian County jail and is his bond is set at $100,000.
