LINCOLN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Police are on the lookout for a suspect who impersonated an officer and tried to get inside a woman’s home in southwest Lincoln County on Thursday.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, described as a while male with blonde hair, hazel eyes, and slight facial hair showed up to the woman’s home sometime on Thursday.

The woman told police the man knocked on the door and identified himself as a police officer. She said he had on grey pants, a blue shirt and a black vest. He had a badge and was driving a black and white car with a light bear and “police” lettering.

The woman was very suspicious of the person and did not let him inside her home. She also had several dogs protecting the home and after about 10 minutes the suspect left.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office advises residents to remain vigilant and not be afraid to call police if you are suspicious; especially around this time of year when police costumes are available in abundance.

If you have any information regarding this crime, contact the sheriff’s office at (405) 258-1191
