Crews Battle Grass Fire In Guthrie

Fire crews were called to a grass fire in Guthrie Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:00 p.m., firefighters responded to a large grass fire near Post Rd. and Prairie Grove Rd. It's also about five miles east of the Guthrie airport.

Upon arrival, crews were faced with heavy smoke and flames. A piece of farm equipment set ablaze and was completely destroyed.The fire spread quickly and was threatening a home in the area.

The fire burned over 20 acres. 

No word yet on what caused the blaze but firefighters were able to get it completely contained in about a hour.
