Caught On Camera: Woman Steals Packages In Broad Daylight

Home surveillance video shows a delivery man dropping off packages at the doorstep for Stefanie Menzie and her husband Friday afternoon.

Menzie and her husband were gone for the weekend, and before their dogsitter could arrive to bring them inside, a silver pickup drove up about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

A woman got out, wearing no shoes, and having no fear. She walked right up to the porch and ran off with their packages. It was shocking for the homeowners in the quiet, west Norman neighborhood.

“It’s disturbing,” Menzie said. “Never expected that.”

The pickup drove away with both boxes worth about $175. Menzie had ordered a special safety helmet for work. It is lavender purple. She also ordered alien Halloween masks.

Only replaceable, material things were stolen, but their sense of security is gone too.

“I think both our jaws dropped when we saw the video and then all day it’s kind of consumed us, all day wondering who did that,” she said.

Menzie filed a police report and then posted the surveillance online. Thousands have shared her video.

“I think we struck a nerve by nobody likes a thief and it’s coming closing to the holidays and we should all be aware,” Menzie explained       

Detectives said they are actively trying to identify the people in the video.
