Oklahoma City's First Trader Joe's To Open At Nichols Hills Plaza

Popular grocery store Trader Joe’s is opening its first store in Oklahoma City at Nichols Hills Plaza.

In February, the chain announced it would build a store in Oklahoma City, that store would be the first to come to Oklahoma.

The store will be located at Nichols Hills Plaza, near 63^rd and Western in Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills Plaza announced on its Facebook page Friday morning.

“The additions of Trader Joe's, Pops and Provision Kitchen signify our commitment to bringing a mix of local, regional and national tenants to the area. It's also in line with our focus on offering a premier mix of upscale retail, restaurants and events,” Nichols Hills Plaza posted on its Facebook page.

Trader Joe's describes its stores as a “store of stories,” saying, “Every item in the store has its own virtues, like high quality ingredients, great flavor, or simply an extraordinary price - and many items boast all of these attributes.”

The company said they are able to provide those virtues by offering more than 3,000 items under the Trader Joe's private label.

In March, the company also announced it will open a new store on Brookside in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in late 2015. Previously Oklahomans had to drive to the Dallas or Kansas City areas to find the nearest store.
