NORMAN, Oklahoma -

Norman police are investigating a shooting threat message found written on a restroom stall at Norman North High School Monday morning.

According to school officials, Monday morning, a student notified officials at Norman North High School of a threatening message that referenced the possibility of a school shooting written on a stall in a female restroom.

School officials immediately notified the Norman Police Department and they are on site investigating the situation.

Officials released a statement saying, “Student safety is our top priority and out of an abundance of caution additional police officers will be patrolling in the area, on school grounds and inside Norman North throughout the day. To ensure students have adult supervision, school will remain in session. However, we understand some parents may want to take their child out of school. We respect that decision and there will not be any attendance or academic consequences.”

If you have any information, call the school office at (405)-366-5954 or call Crime Stoppers at 405-366-STOP.
