The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released dashcam video on Thursday of a pursuit and shooting involving two of its troopers, one of which shot at a suspect heading right for them.

Those troopers were just two of many law enforcement officers trying to stop the suspect who, at times, reached speeds of 120 miles an hour.

The dashcam video shows troopers trying to catch up with 40-year-old Brandon James Wooten as he led officers on a high speed pursuit through Noble and Pawnee Counties on August 27. He was driving a stolen truck, and refused to pull over.

The two troopers tried to stop Wooten as he drove right through a barricade - and right at them! Wooten was shot multiple times but survived.

“The individual is dangerous not only to himself but to the trooper and to the motoring public that was out there,” said Lt. John Vincent with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. “So the trooper in his best defense attempted to stop what he deemed as a threat.”

Lt. Vincent says troopers train for situations just like this during their time at the academy. But it is always dangerous.

Wooten was treated at the scene for his injuries. He was then taken to a hospital -  and then booked into the Noble County jail a few days later. He spent a total of 11 days behind bars.

Wooten is currently out on a $75,000 bond and faces a long list of charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless driving, and endangering others while attempting to elude officers. All of them are felonies. He has a preliminary hearing set for November 5.
