Oklahoma State teammates Emmanuel Ogbah and Ben Grogan were both honored with Big 12 Player of the Week recognition after their efforts in leading the Cowboys to a 30-27 victory over Texas last week.

When Oklahoma State needed its defense to step up in the fourth quarter in Austin, it was the All-America candidate Ogbah who rose to the occasion, sharing on two sacks on the Longhorns' final drive to force a punt that set up the Cowboys' victory. Ogbah finished the game with six tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss in helping OSU become the first team ever to beat Texas on four consecutive trips to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Chosen as the best defensive lineman in the Big 12 last season, Ogbah is well on his way to earning that distinction again this year, as he has 19 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and six quarterback hurries in four games this season.

As for Grogan, he connected on two pressure-packed field goals in the last 1:33 to first tie the game, and then deliver victory. Grogan knocked in a 34-yard field goal earlier in the game. His game-tying field goal came from 41 yards out and his game-winner was from 40. When his three successful PATs are added, he scored 12 of OSU's 30 points. On the year, Grogan has converted on eight of 10 field goals and is three of four from beyond 40 yards.

For Ogbah, it’s the second time in his career that he has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and for Grogan, it’s the second time he has been recognized as Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.
