A family in our area needs help to find something incredibly valuable to them.

Three months ago, their 10-month-old grandbaby died; and to remember her, they keep her ashes in a special vial.

But now that vial is lost, and they said it feels like they've lost their granddaughter all over again.

Jimmy Moore said he was watching the Collinsville football team at Sallee Field Friday night when he realized that the vial holding his granddaughter's ashes had fallen off of his necklace.

He's been searching ever since.

There was a moment of hope Wednesday, but, unfortunately, it didn't last.

Moore just got the news he's been longing to hear.

"The good news is, the ashes have been found," he exclaimed.

Police told him someone turned in a backpack with the vial of ashes inside, so he headed to the station, but first stopped to pick up his daughter so she could be there too.

Emmy O’Rourke was 10-months-old when she died in June, of what police say was blunt-force trauma. Her mother's boyfriend, Brandon Wade Nordstedt, was charged with her death last month.

Jimmy's been relying on the baby's ashes for comfort ever since.

But this vial police had, wasn't Jimmy's vial.

"Wait a minute," he said as he examined the vial. "That's Rocky's!"

It belongs to his son, which means the missing ashes are still out there.

"I feel like I've lost her for a second time," Moore said.

And without them, he said it's nearly impossible to heal.

Moore said, “Where are you? I need you with me. I miss you. And there's not a day that goes by, not a moment goes by that I don't think about you."

If you have seen the vial of ashes, please let the family know by contacting them here.
