Kevin Durant has been cleared to play following a long, complicated recovery from a Jones fracture in his foot that was initially hurt during the preseason last year.

Thunder General Manager Sam Presti made the announcement during his annual 'State of the Thunder' address before training camp.

Durant appeared in just 28 games last season and hasn't played in a game since a Feb. 19th win against Dallas. One month later the Thunder decided to hold him out the rest of the season.

The initial treatment, the insertion of a screw in the foot, caused discomfort so Durant eventually decided on Bone Graft treatment with Dr. Martin O'Malley in New York City. That was in late March; the Thunder were eliminated from the race for the eighth-seed in the playoffs on April 16th.
