I said Monday night that people rushed to judgment after a 14-year-old Muslim student in Irving, Texas, brought a homemade clock to school that looked like it could have been dangerous.

Here's what you had to say:

William said, "Your two cents on this one amounts to a crock. Pandering to the paranoid must get you off."

Ashley in Lindsay said, "I'm glad he got in trouble! He was trying to create a name for himself."

But Robin said, "It was pretty easy to look at that device and determine it wasn't dangerous. Let's say he did it only to see how he would be treated. Does that fact mean he should have been arrested and treated like a criminal?"

Dale in Enid said, "If his name had been Tom or Jeff, we wouldn't even had heard about it. Our country's leaders sadly are so scared to potentially offend a Muslim. From teachers, political officials, even law enforcement."

Benny wrote, "I believe the kid and his dad are trying to make fools of school officials and law enforcement officers."

Finally, Ven in Edmond said, "But if the police officers really thought the clock was possibly a bomb, why was the school not evacuated and the bomb squad called even as the boy was being taken for interrogation? The safety of the children should have been the priority."

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 cents.
