Strangled unconscious and left on the ground, a woman nearly died but a 911 call and quick thinking saved her life.

That event kicked off a 7-hour standoff early Tuesday with a man in Bethel Acres.

The 911 call runs about 13 minutes long, and the victim said a man named John Quinter whom she barely knows attacked her in his driveway.

911 Dispatcher: “Is she conscious?

Caller: “No, her face is turning blue, we’re out here at this guys that my friend is supposed to work for.

Daisy Holder was found lying unconscious in Quinter's driveway.

CALLER: “We saw her on the ground, and we asked him what happened to her and he said she just fell. But I open her mouth and her teeth are knocked out. I think he did it. I think he did something to her.

But it didn't take long to realize she had been attacked, allegedly by Quinter.

About four minutes into the call, and attempts to do CPR, Holder finally regained consciousness.

911 Dispatcher: “Okay, is she breathing honey?"

Caller: “Yes. She’s barely breathing. She’s breathing but it sounds like she’s snorting.

Firefighters are first on the scene and Pottawatomie County sheriff's deputies arrived soon after.

“He came up behind me and he strangled me, and that’s when I blacked out and ended up in the hospital,” Holder said.

Hours after being released, Holder was back at the scene.

“I feel like I am in shock. I’m scared,” Holder said.

She said she met her friend at Quinter's home to get a computer charger and doesn't know why she was attacked.

“I don’t know how long it’s going to be until I recover from this,” Holder said.

Quinter is  in the Pottawatomie County jail Tuesday night for assault and battery by strangulation.

There's also a separate, ongoing investigation into a weekend homicide at Quinter's home.

The Pottawatomie County District Attorney said Quinter claims that homicide was in self-defense, but the evidence doesn't add up, and charges could be filed as early as next week.
