News 9 knows that man and six others were just washing their cars when they were attacked out of the blue.

News 9 talked with one of the victims who said these guys punched him, kicked him and then took his car.

“They just took it for a joyride,” said the victim, who asked not to be identified.

He said on Saturday, Sept. 5, he was just vacuuming his car at this car wash near SW 36 Street and Pennsylvania Avenue when a man came up and put him in a choke hold.

“He got me in the car and then another guy started punching me in the face,” the victim said. “I was freaking out I didn't know what to do.”

This victim said he fought back, but there was no one else at the car wash to help him.

“They broke my nose,” the victim said. “They weren't playing around when they did it.”

Jim Gardner and SkyNews 9 HD were overhead last Friday when Oklahoma City police caught two men after they tried to attack and rob another man at a car wash at SW 44 Street and Byers.

Each time, it was a Hispanic man that was targeted, police said..

“In some cases they were assaulted with weapons,” Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. “In some cases they were simply attacked without weapons, or choked or shoved to the ground, but all were robbed.”

In all the suspects targeted, four different south side Oklahoma City car washes.

The victim News 9 talked to is just glad they are finally behind bars.

“You know why do it to people,” the victim said. ”People work hard for their stuff.”

That victim said he'll never go to a car wash alone again as a result of the attack.

Police are looking for at least one more suspect in connection with the robberies. They have issued an arrest warrant for Daveon Purvis, 19, of El Reno.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts or have also been a victim of a similar robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
