With less than 24 hours to go until the opening of the Great State Fair of Oklahoma, officials spent Wednesday making last minute safety checks.
According to Deputy Labor commissioner Stacy Bonner, six inspectors with their department have 30 years combined experience. They've spent the last four days checking state fair rides, before the gates open Thursday morning.

But Bonner says visitors can do their part to prevent problems with the attractions.
“They should feel secure. That responsibility is a three-legged stool. It's our inspectors, of course the ride operators, and the responsibility of the citizens of Oklahoma getting on the rides,” said Bonner.
Safety inspectors will be on hand until the fair is over to make sure everything is running smoothly.
