4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded Near Mooreland

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook near Mooreland, Oklahoma, late Tuesday night.

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook near Mooreland, Oklahoma, late Tuesday night.

According to the U. S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 11:48 p.m. Its epicenter was located 15 miles east, northeast of Mooreland, and 25 miles east of Woodward.

It was about four miles deep.

At 7:09 a.m. Wednesday, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded just east of Pawnee. It was about three miles deep. 

At 10:17 a.m., a 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded just west, southwest of Pawnee and 19 miles northeast of Stillwater. It was about three miles deep. 

Several small earthquakes were recorded overnight near Cushing, Oklahoma, including a 2.7 magnitude at 10:43 p.m., a 2.9 magnitude, a 2.6 magnitude and a 2.8 magnitude just after 4 a.m. Wednesday.

No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
