Follow These Tips When You Shop At The State Fair

We're less than a week away from the state fair, and if you're going, you might want to give some thought to what you're spending your money on.

Before you buy, there are some things you need to be aware of. Among the corn dogs and Indian tacos, you'll find plenty of other items for sale. But there's some advice you need to hear before opening your wallet.

The Better Business Bureau says you may not be covered if you want to return the item the same way you would be if you bought it in a store.

First, they say take your time. Do not let yourself get pressured into buying something.

Next, always ask questions. This doesn't have to be about the product you're buying. They say to get details on the company you're buying from like how long they've been in business, and if they have a permanent location.

Also, make sure to ask about warranties. See if the company provides a refund or exchange policy if the product you buy turns out to be defective. The BBB reminds you to always get this in writing. 

Finally, think twice before filling out forms for a drawing. This allows companies to get your information, which could possibly be sold to third party vendors.
