Investigators have released the identities of three people involved in a deadly shooting Wednesday night in Gracemont. A man and woman were shot dead and their neighbor is now behind bars for the crime.

D'veric Jessie called 911 to report the double shooting outside his Gracemont home.

The double shooting quickly turned into a double homicide. Investigators said Jessie shot and killed his neighbors, 22-year-old Kayla Martin and her boyfriend, Prince Robertson.

“All I seen was the bodies laying on the ground, what I could see with the flashlights and all,” said neighbor Jamie Reeves.  “It was bad, it was horrible,” he added.

The Caddy County Sheriff's Office said there was some sort of altercation involving the couple outside and Jessie went to check on them.

“Probably a domestic-type deal, and this gentleman went out there and either tried to intervene or interfere or something and it just went downhill from there,” Caddo County Undersheriff Lennis Miller told News 9.

The Caddo County Sheriff's Office said Jessie used a 9mm long gun.

“I didn’t think he had it in him, but I guess he did,” Reeves told News 9.

Neighbors say the victims had not lived in the home for very long. It is shocking for the small community of Gracemont.

“I was pretty upset, I just feel bad for her babies,” said a friend of the Martin’s who did not want to be identified.  “It’s just a sad deal, stuff like that doesn’t happen here,” she added.

Investigators are still looking into how the argument escalated to a shooting.

“He has not denied that he did it, but he’s starting to change his mind a little about why he did it,” Undersheriff Miller said.

Undersheriff Miller said Martin’s two children were inside the home at the time of the shooting. They are now with family members.

“I’m just praying for the family,” Martin’s friend said.  “I know that they are going to struggle through this, they just need lots of prayers and understanding,” she added.

Jessie is being held without bond in the Caddo County Jail on two complaints of first degree murder and one complaint of possessing a firearm after a former felony conviction.
