OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City man is in jail Tuesday night, accused of raping and killing a 2-year-old little girl.

Oklahoma City police arrested Justin William Michael Lawson, 22, Friday morning after they picked him up for an outstanding warrant from another state.

This, after witnesses say he ran from the scene of the crime. This was a home he shared with the 2-year-old, her mother and other family members. The baby’s mother said she is also Lawson’s girlfriend.

“I just want to talk to him face to face and ask him why he do my baby like that,” Keah Cudjo, the baby’s mother, said. “Why did he touch my baby for no reason?”

Cudjo showed us the many pictures she had taken of her daughter Shaleah.

But pictures are now all she has left after her daughter passed away on Thursday.

The state medical examiner’s office said Shaleah’s manner of death is a homicide and said her cause of death was a lacerated liver due to blunt trauma to the abdomen.

Court records show the baby had been sodomized.

Now, Lawson is in jail accused of raping and killing little Shaleah

He was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on rape and murder complaints.

The police report stated officers responded to this home located on NE 39 Street near Prospect after Cudjo came home to discover her daughter wasn't breathing.

“And when I walked in the door, my baby was laying on her back and foam was coming out of her mouth and not breathing,” Cudjo said.

Lawson is being held without bond and has yet to be formally charged.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help with burial expenses for the child. Her body is still being held at the state medical examiner’s officer while police continue their investigation.
