Voters will decide the fate of several school bond issues across Oklahoma. But the most notable election is the race to become the next representative for House district 85.

This district encompasses a large section of northwest Oklahoma City, including areas near Lake Hefner. The seat was previously held by Republican David Dank from 2006 to this past April when he passed away.

When Dank won election in 2014 he actually beat out Cyndi Munson with 56 percent of the vote. Now Munson will run again for the democrats, and she will take on Republican Chip Carter. Munson is a former community outreach manager. Carter works in public relations.

As for one of the many local bond issues, Del City voters will decide on a half-cent sales tax. The slight increase would free up about half a million dollars a year for city improvement projects.

The winner in the district 85 seat will serve the remainder of Dank's two-year term. But in another major local vote, Wynnewood voters will vote on a $23 Million school bond.

Other School Bond Votes: Banner, Drummond, Hollis, Lindsay, Macomb, Pleasant Grove and Sayre.
