An Oklahoma high school teacher and her husband are in jail, accused of abusing his two sons from a previous marriage.

Tony Zeno, 36, and Tamara Zeno, 36, are being held without bond at the Oklahoma County Jail. Tamara Zeno is an English teacher at Cyril High School.

The Cyril Superintendent says they are shocked by the allegations against Tamara Zeno and says they are investigating and hope to get the matter resolved shortly.

The arrests come after Oklahoma City Police started investigating claims made by Tony Zeno's sons this summer. They claim they were abused during their summer visit to their dad's house.

On the outside everything appeared normal. They seemed to be a nice quiet couple who lived in a nice quiet house on a cul-de-sac along Steppingstone Court in Southwest Oklahoma City. That’s located near SW 149th and Western Ave.

The Zeno’s Facebook page shows a happy couple with a 1-year-old son, with the occasional picture of Tony's other two sons from a previous marriage, including one taken June 2nd of this year with the caption "Summer has officially begun".

But according to the police report, Tony Zeno's ex-wife, who lives in Colorado, contacted Oklahoma City Police after she noticed their two sons seemed much thinner after their two-month visit with their dad.

She claims that's when one of them told her he had suffered numerous incidents of physical abuse while in the care of Tony Zeno and his wife during their summer visitation.

The police report states the boy said he was choked by Tony and made to swallow peroxide and soap. He claimed their stepmother Tamara Zeno would zip tie him to the chair and often make him sleep like that. He claimed she also hit him with a golf club.

A neighbor spoke with News 9 and said she was heartbroken when she heard the allegation, but she never heard or saw anything unusual coming from the home. She does not want to be identified but claimed the couple and their young son kept to themselves. Though she wasn't home at the time of the Zeno’s arrest, she said her mother-in-law was, and claimed that she saw officers at the home for several hours Wednesday afternoon searching the home.

That neighbor said the Zeno's only moved in about a year ago and seemed like a nice family, but she didn't even know two older boys were staying there this summer.

Both Tony and Tamara Zeno are yet to be formally charged.
