Your 2 Cents: Literature Of 9-11 Class At UNC

A freshmen level English class called the Literature of 9-11 focuses almost entirely on writings from the perspective of the terrorists and others who are anti-American, rather than the Americans who were slaughtered that day and their families.

A freshmen level English class called the Literature of 9-11 focuses almost entirely on writings from the perspective of the terrorists and others who are anti-American, rather than the Americans who were slaughtered that day and their families.

Here's what you had to say about the course at North Carolina:

Michelle first, "Unbelievably insensitive and offensive! Where is the compassion, the empathy, the SIMPLE RESPECT!!"

Kristie in Edmond writes, "I also remember the American flags, American pride, the feeling of a great nation coming together. That is the feeling the students should have at the end."

I don't think they're going to get that from this course.

But William writes, "the best way to prevent something in the future is to understand the reasoning of those who would undertake that act."

While I agree to a point, there needs to be balance and this course looks to take a lopsided view at that horrible day.

Jerrod in Fairview writes, "As high school teacher, I try to convey the feelings that day brought to me and my family."

Ann in Del City said, "How disrespectful to the thousands of innocent - and I do mean innocent - civilians died on that terrible day."

Finally, Johnny writes from Carnegie, "I am sure, like most things in our culture these days, Americans are made out to be the bad guy."

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
