#ApplaudOKCPS: Schools Celebrate Significant Increase In Math Scores

Posted: Updated:

It’s a celebration for the state's largest school district. Officials with the Oklahoma City Public Schools said nine schools in the district scored double digit increases in math.

This was on the "End of Instruction" and "Criterion Referenced Tests.”

“These gains are the result of dedicated staff, focused student intervention, and resource allocation to insure our students’ academic success”, said OKCPS Superintendent Rob Neu.

According to officials, the most noteworthy gains were in 7th grade math CRT, and 8th grade math CRT with 11-point gains. Algebra 1 EOI’s show 12-point gains from 2014. Some of the highlights include:

  • Jefferson MS  – 34 point gain in 7th grade math CRT’s
  • Rogers MS – 75 point gain in 8th grade math CRT’s
  • Webster MS – 33 point gain in Algebra 1 EOI’s
  • John Marshall HS – 20 point gain in Algebra 1 EOI’s
  • Centennial HS – 38 point gain in Algebra 1 EOI’s
  • Douglass MS – 25 point gain in 8th grade math CRT’s
