Westbound Interstate 40 was closed Tuesday morning at Sooner Road in Del City, after a car rolled over on the interstate and caused downed power lines.

It happened at Sooner Rd. and the Tinker Diagonal around 7 a.m. Tuesday. The driver of a black Cadillac told News 9 he was heading south on Sooner Rd. when he hit a pothole, which caused his wheels to lock up, then hit a curb and a power pole.

The driver and his two children suffered minor injuries.

The power lines above the interstate were so low, some semi trucks were in danger of hitting them. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had to shut down the freeway, while OG&E repaired the lines.

The interstate reopened just before 10:30 a.m.
