Passenger Dies After Traffic Accident In Norman

A person died Sunday night after a pickup crashed into a tree in Norman, police said.

Shortly after 7:25 p.m. Sunday, a pickup was driving northbound on 180th Avenue SE near Blackberry Road. The pickup departed the roadway and hit a tree, police said.

The driver was taken OU Medical Center by medical helicopter. The passenger died at the scene. 

The identities of the driver and the passenger will be released after next-of-kin notifications have been made.
